Luray Hiking
The Shenandoah National Park trails range from long strenuous climbs to short, brisk walks that are perfect for the whole family. Many of these Hiking Trails in Virginia lead to a gorgeous waterfall, or overlook, and other trails lead deep into the heart of the wilderness. Within the Shenandoah National Park, are more Luray Hiking trails like the Cedar Run Falls Trail, the Hazel Falls trail, the trails around Mary’s Rock, and the SugarLoaf Loop. The Limberlost Trail is a unique Virginia Hiking trail in the Shenandoah National Park in that it is ADA accessible. Wheelchairs and other transportation for the disabled can be easily maneuvered over the green walkway that leads through 1.3 miles of stunning mountain scenery.
The George Washington National Forest stretches through our region of the Shenandoah Valley and creates wonderfully preserved areas to enjoy Virginia Mountain Hiking and a multitude of other outdoor activities. Some of the popular Luray VA Hiking spots located in the Lee District of the Thomas Jefferson National Forest include the Kennedy Peak trail, Bird Knob trail, Scothorn Gap, Duncan Knob trail, Signal Knob, and the trails at Big Schloss.

Following alongside Hawksbill Creek, the easy walking trail meanders its way through the town of Luray. Hawksbill is named for the tallest mountain in the Shenandoah Virginia National Park, Hawksbill Mountain, which rests at an elevation of 4,050 feet. The peak is located on the Page County/Madison County line and also contains some great spots to enjoy Luray VA Hiking.

Skyland Stables is located in Luray Virginia at Milepost 41.7 and 42.5 on Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park. Skyland offers 1 and 2-1/2 hour guided horseback and pony trail rides in Shenandoah National Park from March 31 through November, weather permitting.
Jordan Hollow Stables features 140 acres of trails in the Shenandoah Valley. A family owned company, Jordan Hollow Stables trail rides take you past Hawksbill Creek, serene fields, rolling hills, and panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Liberty Valley Farm is located north of Luray Virginia in Fort Valley Virginia. Liberty Valley Farm is surrounded by the George Washington National Forest and has direct access to a large network of trails in the Lee Ranger District.

ATV Vacations
Experience unforgettable thrills and fun when you explore beautiful Luray Virginia by ATV or one of the many other OHVs (Off-Highway Vehicles) that are available for rent in the area! The pristine Shenandoah Valley is home to many rural and secluded spots, providing for some amazing ATV Trails Virginia.
The Lee Ranger District of the George Washington National Forest has over forty miles of ATV Trails in Massanutten Virginia. The two main area are the Taskers Gap Trails and the Peters Mill Run ATV Area. These two great ATV Parks in VA are especially great for those visiting the area that might be bringing along their own ATV or other OHV. Other off-highway vehicles include special four wheel drive vehicles, motorcycles, and dirtbikes.
Every operator of an OHV visiting these great ATV Parks in VA must possess and display the proper OHV Trail Use permit. Permits cost $5.00 for a daily permit or $30.00 for an annual Permit. You can buy a permit at one of the locations listed below. The trails are usually closed in the winter due to weather conditions; however, usually in mid-March they reopen.
